something with plex needed

NowTV box. Enable developer mode, install plex. Plex media player for £10 :)

So wish roku would do a cheap wired version (I dont call £100 for the Roku3 cheap lol), surely wireless is still (slightly) more expensive than a wired adaptor for a manufacturer?

I like the NowTV for what it is, but wireless where I am (in a block of flats) is terrible, and my cable router doesnt have option to change frequency so any wireless signal outside the room with the router gets swamped. Even powerline etc wifi extenders are a bit iffy

Guys,
can the Chromecast/NowTV do 1080p and handle HD Audio (DTS-MA or pass thru to receiver) etc? I have a server running Plex at the moment need a client to run on my TV, these seem ideal if they can do what I need.

The Amazon Fire looks like a perfect single box solution for plex - only downside I can see is the bluetooth controller would mean no Harmony compatibility as far as I can tell.

I don't think the FireTV does audio like DTS MA either and from what i can find the Roku3 only does passthrough with 5.1 DD, plain DTS and DD+

The WDTV SMP is still the best box for codec types, just a shame it's so clunky. The UI with the likes of FireTV running XBMC puts it to shame.
