I have a strange problem with one of my computers running Windows 7. It is exclusively used for checking emails and occasional youtube videos. I was abroad for a few weeks and when I remotely connected to the computer, I noticed about 10-20gb of data being written daily to the Samsung 840 pro ssd even though nobody is using it. About a year ago, the writes were 5tb and today they are 55tb. System restore has always been disabled. What could be causing this?

Specs:
Windows 7
Pentium G4600
4gb ddr4
samsung 840 pro 128gb ssd

Check in tomorrow for another thrilling installment.

Seriously, we're not psychic. You need to run something like SysInternals Process Monitor to work out what's causing it.

What are you using to see that data is being written? Can’t that then tell you what is dong that ?

As above you need to have some utilities to watch the processes running and see whats active.
