Something wrong with new build!

first check all connections between PSU and motherboard with CPU/HSF and 1 stick of ram on it, make sure 24 pin and 8 pin pwr cables are connected to motherboard, see if that works, then you can add drives, video card etc....

I would remove the battery to clear CMOS and press/hold the power button to clear all electricity. Then i would read up your motherboard manual and look at clearing the CMOS using the little jumper nodes! Once all this is done, re-insert the battery and power on to see if this works. If this doesnt then im afraid you would have to try via the trial and error route. Last time i done this it turned out to be my harddrive :( Its time consuming but possibly the only way to work it!

Also just to make sure, you have plugged in the extra 24 power connector to the motherboard??? and not ust the 20pin?

Sorry to hear that :(

do you have a spare PSU ? plug that in, if that works it means your psu is fubar and you need to return it, otherwise it will be the motherboard

Nope, only got the one.All my parts came this morning. As you might be able to tell now im quite annoyed,Eith im not good as i thought i was or something has broke.

Ive tried with mobo, psu and gfx card but still nothing.I cant use mobo and psu because i cant connect mobo to monitor.

you dont need to connect to monitor to see if it pwrs up ;), connect the least amount of stuff and gradually add components. called process of elimination ;) very useful for pc troubleshooting

Ok,so ive seen 2 red lights on mu 4850 and through forums it seems my GFX card is dead as the dodo!!! Now i have to deal with costomer services (What a joy)

It's annoying but believe me, be thankful you've found out what is causing the problem.

Fewer things worse than having PC problems like this and not knowing what the hell is wrong.
