Somethink

i think it's a longitude thing..

i have friends in kent and london who say both "Somethink" and "nuffink"

here in the midlands it "summat" and "nuffin", and "innit" *shudders*

wheras my family up north say "owt" and "nowt" :D

Where be it blackbird to? I know where he be,
He be up yon wurzel tree, and I be after he!
Now I sees he, and he sees I,
Bugger'd if I don't get 'en
Wit a girt big stick I'll knock 'im down
Blackbird I'll 'ave he!
La la la la la la
La la la la la la
'Ow's 'e, Fadder?
Alright!

I love brizzle/zummerzet :p

It's not 'somethink', it's 'sumfink' :p
I'm talking about the vast majority of people who are decently educated and pronounce other words in their vocabulary fine but then somehow seem to sprout a 'k' instead of a glorious 'g', chavs who say 'sumfink' are a lost cause.

That's not us being generally stupid though. Thats just the pure geordie accent :P

" 'ere lads, w'gan oot the neet or what!? Did'nt see owt special last week like..."

that sort of thing :P

It annoys me when people around here say "go" instead of "said". In fact it's more like "gew".

For example:

'She gew to me "ha'ya goh any braaaaaaaacli"'
'then I gew "sure ere yar" n gih er some'.
