I'm off to London for a couple of days, I fancy going somewhere with the Mrs for something to eat.

Somewhere that's nice, friendly with a good atmosphere and good food (any kind really). We're staying in the City area, near Tower Hill station - so somewhere fairly central would be ideal.

Any ideas folks?

Thanks :)

Take her up the Oxo Tower.

Hehe. Food is quite good up there though :)

If you're looking for a reasonable (say £10-15) but tasty lunch out somewhere, go to the restaurant at the top of the Tate Modern. Great views across London, as good as the Oxo Tower.

Depends what you're looking for more specifically and your vague budget.

I'd be happy to help recommend a few places and there are some other people on here who are always very useful with this exact topic.

Some people aren't fussed so long as it's decent food and close to the hotel to stagger home after a bottle or two of wine.

Others fuss over web reviews and the material used on the flipping napkins...

Just looking for somewhere we can relax and have a good time really. Food wise, as long as the menu is quite varied it should be ok.

I'll check out some of the ones mentioned above, cheers. :)

Something reasonably is that noodle bar accross the road from Kings Cross, it's concerningly cheap!
