I was going to say somewhere with seaside, but im guessing there wont be anywhere with vaguely clean sea nearby?

I enjoyed Scarborough when I went, was alright for cleanliness imo, gotta love the arcades too. And their fish & chips is win.

I was going to say lakes but i was beaten like a red headed stepchild by Pete so i'll suggest Snowdonia national park instead, it's as beautiful as the lakes and about an hour and half drive from manchester.
