I think those rumours sites are mixed up. The Apple Vision Pro been released in 2024 is going to be using the new type of OlED screens already. They are Micro-OLED. The next headset from Apple will supposedly be using Micro-LED screens as they are developing the screens themselves. They will be putting their own Microled screens into their watches in 2026. I would be very surprised if they didn't use MicroLED in their next generation headsets as well.
Pretty sure by 2027 most of the higher end headsets will be using MicroLED.
