The end of this year will mark ten years on from the start of the millenium. Absolute Radio are consistently advertising their "song of the decade" poll, which is "coming soon", and I thought that OcUK could beat them to it and have our own song of the decade discussion first!

So which song, released from the year 2000 onwards, is your favourite?

I've had a bit of a glance through my music collection, and have to say that there isn't a huge amount that strikes me as mind-blowingly brilliant, although this may just be a result of my own personal mental block. Anyway, Bloc Party's So Here We Are seems to stand head and shoulders above most other songs in my collection, although Snow Patrol's Run and Blur's Good Song are also there or thereabouts.

Just interested to hear your thoughts! What's the best song of the decade?

In terms of popularity and lengthy appeal to the masses, it has to be Umbrella.

I've no idea what my song of the decade would be though, would really struggle to pick even 10!

Even though I'm not a massive Razorlight fan I dearly love Golden Touch, and often play and sing it to warm up a bit when on the guitar. I really can't pin down what I like about it but it really stands out for me as a great song.

Same old tosh, you can't have a "song of the decade", it will just be some old pop trash as decided by some music production company that stands to gain money from it.

Pitchfork reckon it's Outkast's B.O.B (which is a great song)

For me it's way to hard to call but I really like Interpol's - Obstacle 2

Pitchfork are a bunch of stuck up prats who change their opinion on what is good depending on which way the wind blows.

Best song post 2000? God I actually don't know. A Perfect Circle – Passive would be up there for me.

Few of my favourites would be:

Soul Meets Body - Death Cab For Cutie
Mr November - The National
Mr Brightside- Killers
PDA - Interpol

Pitchfork are not perfect but they are produce by far the best reviews and have an interesting website.

Also anything given over 9.0 is usually fantastic, they know thier stuff.
