There aren't any native Linux audio players which can touch foobar2000 IMO, but Songbird isn't bad in its own way, and I prefer it to rhythmbox, banshee, amarok, exaile, quod libet... the main drawback is its sluggishness, particularly when you point it at a very large music collection. It does seem to perform better in this respect than the Windows version though.
foobar2000 runs well enough under Wine, but to me running anything under Wine always seems an unsatisfying experience, and foobar2000 is no exception.
