Sonos Beam Gen2 Worth the price?

I just setup my C2 65" and find the speakers terrible. My old C8 OLED was much better.

I know internal speakers aren't great but can tell a big difference from the C8 to C2

After researching I'm torn between the Sonos Beam gen 2 and Bose 600 smart speaker. Both around £500.

You could get a pretty good stereo system for that,.and allow you add remaining speakers later

Add a second hand avr for another £150 and have a good upgradeable system.

I absolutely hear what your saying, but I personally don’t have the time with work and a busy home life to search down multiple sound parts, I barely get time to read some decent reviews :( if it’s a case of adhoc bolting on a range one to a range I find that a lot easier to focus on, Sonos are a well respected brand….

No offence meant at all in this post maybe I’m just at that time in life where I want to ”plug n play” and enjoy :)

I have a beam 2 and its a massive step up from the tv speakers obviously not as good as a proper system but im really happy with it. The mrs thinks its too loud and she definitely wouldnt want speakers and cables all over the living room.

I think the bass is fine, the mrs hates it and makes me set it to night mode haha I would say dont expect any directional sound without seperates. My tv is set up in a corner with a fireplace one side and a curtain the other so its never going to work for me.

Mine tells me to turn my Matrix Trilogy down all the time  but myself and my sons love all types of sci-fi so a step up is a bonus!!

Bass is fine but it’s not a sub, you have to remember that. I have one myself and I love it but it isn’t a surround system. Easy enough to chuck a couple of rears in and a sub if you decide you want to in future. Go for it, you’ve already made your mind up, I can tell :D

Think I’ll opt for John Lewis with the 2 year service

Does it lack bass? Or directional sound
I've not heard the Gen 2 but the Gen 1 definately lacks bass and directional sound compared to what your money can get you elsewhere. That's not to say it's not good but it's all relative.

I wouldn't go Sonos unless you're planning using their stuff throughout the house. As a standalone system it's not amazing. You're paying for convenience.

If you want something relatively low profile without wires everywhere and actually want some directional sound and some bass, the Samsung Q930B can be had for around £600 now.

No, it's not going to compete with a separates system but it will give you a pretty acceptable Atmos experience.

My friend has the sonos beam (1) with the ikea Symfonisk speakers as rears. Works well enough if you're not seeking audiophile level quality.

We have the Arc and Sub and for me, it's brilliant. I would like to add the rears but I'm not getting the permission required.

After doing some research and watching a number of reviews this is looking favourable! Can find it for £659 online, rather than paying for separates which I’m not looking to mix n match, Sonos seems great but way over priced for the soundstage that I want with SB, Bass, rear speakers etc!! Now thinking about placement, my tv is on a stand in a rectangle room 3m wide and 5m in length I’m planning on putting the bass unit to the side of the Tv and rear speakers on each back corner of the sofas!

It looks like that domain was registered about a month ago, it has no trust pilot reviews at all and it's selling tech extremely cheaply

I wouldn't be putting my card details anywhere near a website like that, it couldn't look more suspect unless it had a big flashing banner saying SCAM at the top

Haha I thought it was too good to be true! Thanks for the reply!
The search continues…….
