Hi guys im wondering if anyone here has the above camera and any comments on it. Ive currently got the A230 as this was my first dig into DSLR but now im looking to upgrade and like the look of the cam (makes sense to reuse my lenses).

I held and had a quick play with the A55 in a local shop and loved it but dont think is that large jump i want from the A230.

Online reviews suggest the digital view finder isnt for everyone but i actually like it more than my current one (was easier to see the settings).

Any comments welcome, even for the canon/nikon fans who could sway me to upgrade to one of the other makes.

Cheers

The A65 as far as I know hasn't made it into the shops yet. I've got the A55 and its a fantastic camera which would be a pretty big jump up from the A230. Its very fast and produces so really nice video as well, with full time AF. I've not had any problem with the view finder and I like the fact the camera is relatively small compared to other DSLRs of an equivalent spec. If you already have some A mount lenses then it doesn't make a lot of sense to switch to another vendor unless you can sell them on for a decent amount.

Cheers, i was really impressed with the A55, felt so good in the hand and i loved the live view. I could upgrade to this and get a wide angle lens and still keep to my budget, but i am wanted EVEN more from an upgrade as it will be a long time when i get the chance to do it again.

Hopefully the local shop will get the A65 and A77 in so i can feel what they are like and then see if the price increase over the A55 is worth it.

ps do you recommend a wide angle lense for the sony?

The A65 is a little big bigger than the A55.

From DPReview:
A55 - 124 x 92 x 85 mm (4.88 x 3.62 x 3.35")
A65 - 132 x 97 x 81 mm (5.2 x 3.82 x 3.19")

Also, the A65's EVF is apparently a big step up on the A55's.
