I have a now dead AF9, purchased in 2019 so 7 years old. Black screen with the white light in the bezzle really dim and not bright at all like it usually is. Can't do anything, will not accept any inputs from the remote or the button's on the side of the tv. Tried all the usual internet theories to get it working but nothing. MY nearest Sony service agent is 90+ miles away and there's next to non local tv repairers.
Million dollar question is do i travel the 90 odd miles or just say suck it and accept that it's 7 years old and time for a new set?

I have a similar story that might help you make a decision.

When my LG B7 OLED needed repairing after less than five years, I initiated a warranty repair. After some back and fourth with Richer Sounds and LG, I came to the conclusion that LG weren't in a position to repair a TV that old.

I ended up buying and new one, albeit at a significantly reduced price that Richer Sounds covered as a goodwill gesture.
