I've been eyeing this bluray player up for a little while now to replace an s350, I like the idea of lovefilm streaming & youtube plus the iphone control would be pretty cool indeed. Couldn't believe it when I checked richer sounds to find out they had 500 for £79.99, went straight there yesterday to be told they'd sold out & had people queing for them on boxing day!
They are now back up to £99.99, but I'm waiting for the next bargain to come along now.
Did anyone here manage to get there hands on one of these for £80? Any thoughts on it compared to older models?

Got one for just under £100 today and so far impressed with the quality of the online features like LoveFilm/BBC iPlayer rather than using my HTPC since it's a lot quieter to run.

Haven't had a dedicated Blu-Ray player before so for the money was happy with it and handles movies like Avatar/The Matrix fine whereas my HTPC would jerk at the menus (granted it's not the most powerful setup). Also very quiet though can just hear the fan if it's set in power saving mode, which might be an issue if you sit close to it.

Does it work well when loading iplayer & youtube? My last one the s350 had a bit of trouble displaying blueish greens/greenish blues, it would look pixelated on those areas. Could just be my tv but I suspect the player, have you had any trouble with colour reproduction?
Also are you connecting it to the internet? Is it easy enough to do? Just read a review of the s760 (last series flagship model) which says the s370 has surpassed even that one!

I'm connecting to the internet over ethernet and only tried BBC iPlayer so far, I'm assuming it depends on the quality of the connection and video source for quality. The quality of the iPlayer video I tried was fine as for normal TV and only experienced a pause once though that was local network issue. Setup for the network defaulted to DHCP with option for manual settings and was in one of the initial setup screens.

Checked out a couple of YouTube videos and everything seemed fine for playback on setup I have, no green/coloured pixels or pausing so looks good for the money. :)

How did you find setting it up was? I got one through this afternoon and have not been able to get it working, I think I've got a faulty one cos the video signal just keeps cutting out after the loading screen.

Sounds like you might have a faulty unit. When I had switched on the unit had asked me about language, video settings (1080i/HDMI) network settings (initially DHCP) and power setup. After a while I'd setup the network on static IP and to switch off completely instead of normal standby due to the fan being on.

Hmmm, I didn't get anything like that at all!

I just got the splash screen then blank screen.

Have got it all wrapped up now to return, hopefully I'll get a working one back.

Iplayer. its a funny old thing isnt it? iplayer on virgin is a POS - some stuff doesnt appear there for days. yet the internet based iplayer (which is the one the ps3 and the sony bluray players use) is far better in this respect, and its easier to use too. why are they even different ???
