so no chance of any update in the next month then? they aren't brilliant with this to be honest, you'd hope for more considering the trouble they've had over last few years.

SE have said they will release Android 2.1 in Q3, so in the worse case scenario that's a 7 week wait. I have also read some rumours that 2.1 update could start to be rolled out from the end of the month (3 Weeks)

However, I have not seen any update on XDA about the CM6 (Android 2.2) ROM which they have been working on. Hopefully it shouldn't be that long to wait :)

Patients is a virtue as they saying goes.

Hi all, does anyone know of a problem with battery charging using a cigarette lighter charger while using GPS. I started with 100% battery life and that trickled down to 90% at which point the charger kicked back in (as it does on the mains charger) However instead of charging, the battery level continued to drop and then the charging symbol disappeared even though the led was still on and the battery still wasn't full charged. On closer inspection, the phone had got very warm but charging would not resume until GPS was off and the phone had been restarted and cooled down. Could this be a fault? I was using Google Maps Navigation

what firmware are you using ? im sure that was fixed in one of the earlier updates

and what brand charger are you using ? have read about the batterys being funny with underrated ampage chargers

I've never encountered this issue and I charge whilst using GPS quite often, maybe it is the charger...? I'm using an SE car charger (I forget the model number) and it always worked on both R2BA020 and 26... I'm sure it worked fine on 16/14 as well but can't be certain

Try it with a SE charger, after research I found it was cheaper on Amazon then anywhere else.

You are right, that is what a standard USB outputs at and also the rated value of the charger CPW sold me. Owing to what you have said about the SE charger, my charger is inferior and perhaps unable to supply enough current to maintain charge when using my phone intensively.

i think its the overheating causing his issues though. they are known to stop charging or even turn off when they hit certain temps

no idea whats causing the overheating though so not much help

Can I clear this up then as well. On mains charger, it charges to 100%, stops and then power then trickles to 90% over a period of time, at which point it begtins charging again. Is this normal or could it point to a battery fault when added in with the car charging issue I described earlier?

Once it reaches 100% it stop charging until the battery goes down to 95% and then it start charging again.

Also the phone has 2 charging modes slow trickle charge for 500mA or less and fast for over 500ma.
