did you have to reinstall 020 ? step 2 does nothing whatsoever for me

infact here is my error.

can you confirm that a hard reset of the phone helps ? i dont really trust the silly canadian who suggested it. especially since he was talking about steps 5 and 6 WTF

I have started from R1BA016 again.

Hmm I am getting them same. I have a idea ill post back in a mo. :D
 
this better not all be because of a dodgy link from you ;) :p

actually i think thats just a difference in between how those sites and windows calculate filesizes. OSX always add a bit onto stuff like those sites are

Xperia X10 Root Guide. R2BA020 Current firmware

Root Files. Files Needed For Root - Right Click Save As

Step By Step Guide.

1. Flash the phone to R1FB016 using Omnius or SEUS

2. Turn on Debugging mode
Settings>Applications> Development >USB Debugging

3. Run Step 2 - You should see the following

so step 3 is adding crap again ? seems where i went wrong was by missing thes bit that say .16

anyway ive got the files ready to go but remembered i HAVE to be up tommorow and that if there was a bug with the clock i would be stuck for an alarm!

Step 3 enables root access.
