3G battery life for me is terrible, usually flat within a day, yet if I keep to 2G I can get 4 days out of it.

Think that's down to where I live though as the 3G signal isn't great here for o2 so it's constantly switching back n forth.

Speaker and mic quality is rather dire, I really miss the noise cancelling on the E71.

Biggest gripe though (well apart from speaker/mic quality) is the charger, it's a royal pain in the ass having it as micro usb especially if it's dark trying to get the damn thing in, plus as it's on top it makes it awkward using the phone while on charge (for calls).

Apart from the above, I quite like it.

Not really fussed on 2.1 being released as it doesn't really add anything of use to me, 2.2 however would be nice for the adobe flash support.

Ive just purchased an X10 Mini Pro and Im experiencing the same thing with the battery, Im going to have to disable the 3G (already have wireless disabled) to get more battery life.

Im new to smartphones so I wasnt really ready for this kind of (poor) battery life, and having to manage apps to deal with it. :p

2G for me made a big difference, like I said above I can get 4 days out of it that way.

On average I'll get 3 days out of it with maybe 1hr calls, couple of texts and weather app updating every 3 hours.

It's a long way off what I had from my E71 as that used to last a week with similar useage but it's a big improvement to when I had bluetooth, wifi and 3G running, I was charging the phone twice a day when I first had it (although I was browsing a lot more then to be fair).

i use apn droid and its literally a millisecond click turning on 3g before i open the browser. cant see why i need 3g on at any other time

screen brightness off auto setting and set somewhere in the middle improved my battery LOTS and is generally much brighter than it ever was with auto

Oh yer, forgot to add I have brightness set at 33%

I have a toggle switch on one of my homescreens to take me to networks screen for 2G/3G toggle, but generally I am within range of wifi anyway which is a one press switch :)

I'm happy with the setup of the phone atm that I'm not bothered about the lack of 2,1 but it would be good to have it nonetheless

I think its a spoof anyway, looking at further posts - but as they say BS news is still news.
Guess they just come out with anything to keep their blog figures up :(

Well got mine yesterday it appears their isnt any orange branding on it anyway which is a plus.

Firs impressions i like it easy to use like how facebook is intergrated to your contacts etc, not really played with the media stuff eyt but the camera isa abit underwhelimg however its on default settings could be why.

Any thing you people suggest i do with it right away?

Sell it and buy a desire HD :p
J/k, no point now, so close to the release of a big update you may aswel wait for that before messing.
I would say try a few apps too, and get the SE sync running as the 2.1 update will wipe everything anyway.

On Sony Ericsson Denmark's facebook page, they say that we will have 2.1 within 2 weeks.

(It's all danish).

Fast translation:
"There have been many questions about the 2.1 update. We can confirm that the update will come within the next 2 weeks and will bring you: 5 homescreens with new widgets, video in 1280x720 (720p HD), general better performance, better integration with better social services and a lot more".

  • Lock screen lag
  • Lock screen doesn’t unlock some times
  • On some occasions after unlocking the phone (and very little movement on my part) it has opened several programs
  • The screen goes nuts some times, acting like I am pressing on it several times at once
  • Rarely, when typing a text message it vibrates for almost 10 seconds (during this I can’t type)
  • Signal/data connection drops every few seconds/minutes when browsing even when stationary
  • Low in call volume
  • Apps crash/force close at least once or twice a day
  • Charges too quickly
  • Drains too quickly (with 3G or gaming around 1% per minute) – basically the battery is borked!
  • Browsing doesn’t work sometimes despite full signal/data connection
  • Contact pictures - despite using high res ones they come out all blocky
  • AUTOLOCK after phone calls!

I don't really have any of them problems with mine other the low in call volume. My battery easily lasts a day with default settings so Gmail set to push, ISP email set to check every hour, Fancy widget to check every hour as well and I use it most days for around 2/3 hours of music and looking at websites :D

Mainly Facebook (manually though). Not the highest resolutions (around 500x500) but look fine on a computer screen and when I select them for cropping. When it comes to calling or viewing the contact they get very blocky.
