After previous problems with a 500mA car charger I am tempted to buy the Griffin PowerJolt SE Mobile charger with 1000mA charging output. Shouldthis be safe to use with the x10?

Slow couple of weeks for X10 users. Good news though - looks like the new release date for 2.1 (the late October and early November releases at lease) are still on schedule as SE have announced their Live View gadgets will be released early next month (these devices need Android 2.xx to work).

Anyone able to help with a problem I have connecting to my work WiFi? The first two pictures are taken from the manual explaining how to connect (it says you need Android 1.6 and above).

The next two pictures shows what I actually get when I try to connect. None of the options the manual tells you to choose are there, instead just what you seen and you can't even choose any additional options.

Any ideas? Would a third party app be better?

Anyone?

X10 news (starting with most likely to be untrue first to possible last):

1.

I talk to the supervisor at sony ericsson and asked about 2.1 update she told me Q1 2011 and i wasnt sure and called again after 2 hours and speak with manager he told me the samething, this is bs what sony ericsson is doing,
First we get told Q4, then we get told Q3, then again we get told Q4, and now Q1 of 2011

Rumours are circulating in the French blogosphere that Sony Ericsson is set to launch a new mobile dubbed the Xperia X10 HD. It seems to be more of a marketing ploy though as the X10 will have the same hardware as existing handsets but will ship with Android 2.1 and HD video recording in tow.

A new Sony Ericsson Xperia X10 720p video sample has leaked onto YouTube from a Japanese owner. YouTube member tenchansan10 was at the Motorsport Japan 2010 event and shot some impressive footage of an x-treme trial rider. The first sample we saw suffered from noticeable frame rate issues. These haven’t disappeared entirely, but the new video is perfectly watchable, especially considering the fast action.

After a long period of little/no activity, it looks like some devs over at XDA are testing an early version of 2.1 - the race might be back on between SE and XDA lol.

Can't help you with your previous problem, sry - have you tried asking someone on XDA ?

As for news, yes its slow - I also do not hold much faith in SE releasing 2.1 for us anytime soon.

Its funny how this all ties into a (re)release of a (re)named X10HD.
SE games will ultimately cost them in the long run, it is a PR disaster smouldering away, waiting to flare up.
It was obviously not planned, it seems some bright spark (pun intended), in sales dept. thought this up at the last min as 2.1 was been readied for release.
Good from a marketing point of view (sell more of an older unit), not great for existing X10 users.

Been away for a while and after reading this last page im well dissatisfied with se. Had a go on a mates galaxy s and i think im going to jump on that band wagon as i can put up with this 65k colour screen any longer.
Only thing is the gps seems to be a lot better in the sony than on other phones.

What resale value can we get for our phones at the moment?

must admit i have printed a lot of photos from the x10's camera and they do come out a real good quality.

are we likley to get 16mil colours in the update?

anyone tried the galaxy s camera for print outs on photo paper?

i suppose they do, but i think im just really miffed at SE as i only bought this phone based on the so called fact that i was going to be getting the original list of improvements when the update arrived.

and this list keeps getting smaller with every delay:mad:

SE say they will be starting to roll out at the end of October which probably means October 31st and people receiving it dome time in November. This is only for the countries that are first on the list too.

When using google navigation does anyone else suffer from lost gps signal and the only way to get it back is to restart the phone ?

Nope, if I lose GPS (normally through tunnels) it connects back straight away once signal is restored.

In some cases it does take a bit of time to reconnect but it always reconnects eventually.

Could be your car is acting as a faraday cage and weakening the signal...
