Sony Ericsson Android XPERIA

Been using Beta 2 since last night.

On the whole very impressed. Few little niggles though.

If i uninstall any system apps, with titanium backup, they still appear in menus etc. For example twitter! (grr)

Also sony ericsson sync does not seem to exsist anymore.

Any my phonebook, while it linked my contacts to the appropriate FB profile it does not seem to download status and pictures.

Battery life, despite using set cpu my battery life seems to be reduced by quite an amount on 2.2. Currently I get anywhere between 30-40 hours out of 2.1. But used 50% battery in just 6-8hours today. I need at least 20 hours out of the darn thing!

Native WiFi wont work due to the current kernel. Barnacle should work, ill have a look and report back.

I use both default and Dolphin HD.

Flash + DT = :D

I can't wait for all these new handsets to be released :D

Hhmmm somtimes Apps wont install and Myfitnesspal wont work (can someone else confirm please?). Like the FB push notifications.

I downloaded my fitness pal and it runs with no problems. I don't have any problems with fb ether...

Have you downloaded hotfix 1 for beta 2 yet?
 
Sorry I meant, I like the FB (push) notifications :p

The apps that wouldn't install seems to be fine now. Just installing the hotfix now. Myfitnesspal works now. One question - how do we update to the new Market? Using Market doesn't seem to trigger the updates notification.

Download this and copy it to your sd card and install it using xRecovery

1.flash mt enabler
2.flash rom
3.after flash at first boot rom will be stuck at SE logo
type in adb shell
busybox killall5

pull battery out then reinsert battery

Do you think they will be able to get a fully working 2.2 ROM (without cracking the bootloader). They can't be far off :D

I wonder the the 2.3 ROM is like, think I will wait until they are at this stage for 2.2 before trying.

Id say about about 80% there now. Mine been pretty stable and I use it as a daily ROM now.

The main problem is using the 2.2 Kernel, once that's resolved we're cooking with gas!

The Gingerbread ROM is also coming along quiet nicely now as well. :D
 
2,2 BETA 2 ROM + X FX10 v1.2 theme for the win! Menu speed and transitions are lightning quick and on par with iOS's fluidity! Love it! Managed to get a Quadrant score of over 1,500 (on a good day).

Anyone got NES/SNES ROMS working?

Plugged my phone into the pc last night and was told by pc comapnion that my phones software is out of date and needs updating.

Is this because i recently rooted my phone, and should therefor ignore the message, (i was at 2.1 beofre rooting)

Also, I am running the eminence ROM atm, what alternatives are there ATM that arent buggy. I dont want to loos functionality so wont be considering 2.2 till more stuff is fixed.
 
Performance ROM for 2.1 is pretty good. TBH - the Free 2.2 BETA is damn good for a BETA ROM. Only problem I have with it is no native WiFi tethering and the video camera doesn't work.

EDIT - Flashed to BETA 3 and all data restored.

1514 in Quadrant.

xRecovery is force closing when I try to run it (have rooted AFAIK). I note a prereq is BusyBox, do I need this before I run it?

I still get FC with busybox installed? :(

And it seemed to take ages, i've installed root explorer but I don't see the option to mount as R/O (as in, no button!)
