Not sure - the four files came to 1.24MB but the link you provided is half the size. To be honest - I only used the one I mentioned for a few minutes as it was really slow. The Arc launcher used in the ROM in my previous post ran fine - I think it may be the same as the one you are suggesting.

Ill give it a go later tonight and report back, ive got the 4 files aswell, so ill try them both and give my view on it, im still using the stock SE firmware so performance might be ok.

Well ive now done that, im running a bog standard 2.1 firmware from SE and its running smoothly and pretty damn fast, a lot less jerky than the stock home screen thing (technical i know lol)

Anyways the one from XDA is just the home.apk that is in with the 4 files xibinim posted so no difference there apart from the name, my only issue at the moment with it, is when you press media in the left hand corner none of the little boxes actually work and show no icons at all, so im not sure whats going on with that. But overall its quite nice and no crashes yet or bouts of not repsonding.

Andy, what are you thoughts on the Sony Mobile Bravia Engine for the Arc? I assumed it was a feature limited only to the Arc due to its rather lovely LED backlit LCD screen. I have just noticed the Neo is listed as having the Bravia Engine and that just has a plain TFT capacitive screen - does this mean it is purely a software feature and could it be ported to the X10 :D?

Mines still going strong after the mainboard was replaced.
I read a lot of posts about the X10's having a factory fitted screen protector on it. How do you tell if you have one on and remove it please.

Thanks

Yes they come as standard, if you have not removed it it will be on there.

If you look around the edges it will be slightly raised, It's probably better to run your figure nail around.

yea so SBE Ltd have lost my x10 and its proving pretty damn hard to get a new one or money out of them... i sent it to them via special delivery for repair (through SE support) they sent it back recorded  30 days ago

After the update all your personal stuff is saved.
Its added all the crappy apps I removed again but added some new ones like Neoreader and postcard.
Seems a bit more responsive and snappy. Will see tomorrow.

That sounds like the Multitouch update to the firmware, mine had those apps when i updated.

No multitouch as far as I can see.
Battery is about the same.
Mediascape is much improved. Works when you tip your phone on its side now too.
Hold your finger on a picture and move is up and down to zoom in or out.
Same with music and video, hold and drag your finder to skip backward and forward.
Z4root no longer works and I have Moxier Mail constantly running !!

Have you tried using dual touch on the internet browser?

One of the biggest stumbling blocks for people when considering a custom ROM is that they will lose the ability to take video recordings. Most custom ROMs up until now have had this key feature missing.

However, the gods at xda-developers have done it again. A patch is now available to download that will restore the camcorder and will work on all Froyo ROMs. It is already confirmed that it works on FreeX10-beta4. However, the functionality is not native as some apps like Barcode Scanner and Google Goggles do not work. Despite this, it’s a massive step forward. You can download the necessary file from here.

:D

Almost there.

Anyone notice that calender crashes after the multitouch update?

Argh FFS SE are really messing this up!

Is there any way to sim unlock these for free yet ? If not then what's the cheapest way to do it ? Finally got a vodafone replacement but realise it will be easier to sell unlocked

When's the arc due out?
