Found a new way of calibrating the battery, dont know if it works personally but might be of interest to some of you. Xda link

On a related note to the battery thing, Wolfbreaks latest 007 test thing has improved my battery life no end, %59 after 21h, of moderate gaming, viewing emails, browsing - compared to the 22hours of full charge to 0 on the previous version doing the exact same as above.

When you say your battery is still just as bad.... How exactly do you use it?

I mean, do you use it for lots of music, games, browsing and calls because they will obviously drain the *$%" out of it.

For example, from fully charged to 61% in 1-2 hours from playing Angry Birds and listening to music.

But on the other hand, from 100% to 49% in 1 day 10 hours with no gaming or music but the same amount of calls and browsing.

I am on baseband .54 by the way.

EDIT: Also, are you using the launcher that comes with the ROM or using another launcher "on top" of it (i.e. launcherpro, adwlauncher)? Because this is known to cause battery drainage too.

I would consider myself a light user, only ever use it for light internet browsing during the day, a small number of whatsapp msgs and low txt/calls. On the stock Rom I would easily get 1 days + worth of battery life. The odd thing is I have tried 3-4 custom ROMS and the main issue for me is the battery life on all of them. Currently on TripnMIUI Iris 1.1.0 and the battery went from 100% before I slept and was down to 50% 7-8 hours later on standby.

Used standard Launcher when I had the TW007 update rom, also tried different basebands depending on what the ROMs supported. I do the usual Factory resets/cache/battery wipes and resets before installing the ROMs as well. Must be doing something wrong, or its my phone :mad:

I would suggest to try the battery optimisation guide as posted above. It can't make it any worse than it is so nothing ventured.

Do you have many widgets on your home screen or any email services that push messages through on a more than regular basis?

And have you tried turning off 3g when you aren't using it?

For reference, I'm on 2 days 3 hours now since unplugged and I have 26% battery left.

Had two calls on it since last night, downloaded the new bbc news app and messed about with what app shortcuts go where on the home screen.

Still haven't played any games on it though (in the 2 days it has been unplugged) which is what I think is the real drainer.

Nope usually when I install a new ROM I install the bare minimum for a couple of days to ensure its ok before I stick everything else on it. Widgets are Facebook, Twitter every 4 hours.

Sorry to be a pain but can you remember the exact order you installed your current ROM in? Was it something like

Install BB.54 first (unless it was already .54)
Install CM_6.1.3 V006.zip
Install CMFix_v6-V61
Install Xperia_TW_Update.zip>wifi_bt fix>wifi_driver fix and Reboot?

with all the resets and wipes before the main rom install?

I'll give the battery optimisation a go, no harm as you say but can't say I'm too optimistic of getting near 2 days! I'd be extremely happy if I can get one of the custom ROMs and have the battery last day and a half.

Baseband .54 was put on a while ago yes.

I did the usual factory reset, wipe cache partition, wipe dalvik cache and wipe battery stats.

I installed "CM 6.1.3 v006" I then reboot and let it load and give it a minute.

Then I installed "CM Fix v6 v61" I then reboot and do the same, give it a minute.

Then I installed "Xperia TW update" I then reboot and leave it at that.

I have never had to install the wifi BT fix or the wifi driver fix.

From what I gather you are putting them all on at once? If so, maybe that is where your problems are coming from :)

Indeed I am! I updated everything one after the other and then rebooted. I'll give this a go when I get home, hopefully this solves the issues with Battery life. Thanks for the advice.

I think you have to put the Rom on then reboot and then do each update and reboot after each one.
Thats what I did at least.
I think that was the instructions before they changed also, not 100% sure on that though sorry.

Have been running TW007 for 14 hours now (7-8 whilst alseep) and battery is at 50%. This is much better than the previous ROMS I was on and should at least match the stock battery performance. Thanks to Si Lad and Davola for their help with this. I'll probably stick with this ROM until the official 2.3 is out, although Wolfbreak seems to have a new version of the current ROM I'm using out soon.

Yea Full Tw007 will be out either today or tomorrow at a guess, or the next few days at least, which means a complete new install, so id make backups of what you have now in preperation.

So I have done the first part of the battery optimisation guide (I am on the part where I am letting the battery run down for the first time) and I have to say there is a noticeable improvement already!

9 Hours since unplugged and I'm on 86%, I'm following the guide so I'm not aggressively draining it.

Well my upgrade is due in 2 weeks, heard good reviews of this Xperia Arc.

Anyone got any major issues or hates they wish to share? :-)

Starting to sound very good indeed, cant wait.

And of course a lot new Tweaks included that makes the Phone even faster. The Version is a rewrite and includes even more CM own Tweaks that i included from CM for Desire. Screen Quality is improved too due to new Dithering.

Better Performance, Better Screen Quality, Better Battery, Better Theme = V007 :)

Eh..whats this BB thing ive been hearing, a lot of talk of it in Wolfs thread, a lot of people are saying the current one works with that BB, so in theory it will with 007.

Baseband is the radio, .67 is the latest one from SE, supposedly improves battery life, and people are presuming its coming ready for 2.3update.

im returning back to stock 2.1 for a bit to see how long i can make it last, i will re root another time, but for now i can make do with out flashing a new rom every night :o
