XENON!!!!!!11111ONEONEONE

Finally!!! I hope this is a phone that I can put up there with the K800i.

Sony Ericsson have been fairly lackluster lately, this phone certainly does look like something to put them back in the limelight.

Is the touchscreen resistive of capacitive do you know? I always read in phone reviews that the capacitive option (which the iphone has for example) is better, so can never understand why so many touchscreen phones use a resistive screen, unless theres an extra cost involved?

Looking at the on screen buttons, I'd say capacitive. The costs are the same, the only benefit of resistive over capacitive is the ability to use a stylus and therefore enabling handwriting recognition. A lot of the asian market use prefer the handwriting support over the capacitive on-screen keyboards. I think there is a trend to copy the iphone now and we could see far more capacitive screens.

I didn't realise but this is just the Idou! SE settled on a name for it. It has been mentioned on the forums before - but under Idou.

It looks to be running Symbian as the OS according to GSMArena - good and bad I guess. Don't like Symbian's brower and the OS is sooo old now. Really needs a re-write. I think their new OS is a re-write though.... perhaps this phone will be released on that.

Yep it's the Iduo, just a different name. It looks an interesting phone, just a shame about the low res. screen :( (but then they are just using the standard Symbian res.).

As for whether capactive or resistive is better, each to their own. Capactive is a little faster (although there is new tech coming up that will change that) and doesn't have the slight flex of a resistive screen but it is less accurate and uses more power. Resistive screens on the other hand are slower but they don't need your skin to function (due to different technology, they are true touch screen as such, capactive uses electrical current to work out where your finger is and as such can't tell how hard you are pressing, unlike resistive, which uses small sensors between two pieces of material). The lack of skin means they can be used with a stylus, whilst wearing gloves, or even with something like a pen (touch screens in shops are resistive, hense how a lot of people use pens to tap in data as they can't be bothered to put it down).

IMO Resistive screens are better in most cases (I've used my HD in the snow, and it was brilliant not to have to take my gloves off for example), and will probably overtake capactive screens again with the new/faster technology that is coming out in the near future (if it comes to fruition, it's just a working prototype atm.)
