hi,
got my w900i yesterday and i love it but the problem is it seems to me the battery life is really poor.i have charged it about three times already, when i play some music for 45 minutes the battery would go down to 70-80%,is this normal?

cheers

oh right, how long was your initial charge? i charged mine for about 2 hours and then it the w900 said "FULLY CHARGED".

can anyone tell me if battery life improves over time?

oh right ok will give it a few more charge and see if the situation has changed.

how long can the w900 play music for until the battery runs down to 0%??

in my opinion yes, i think the camera on the w900 is better quality than the d600. i havent used the 6280 but from what ive heard its not bad.

if i was you i would go for the w900.

yeah, i love the phone.all the little programs are great. before i got it i was scared that it may be too bulky but i found it d perfect size altho all my mates said it was a brick!!!

Oh and the inbuilt pc remote control function is quite cool, allowing you to control your pc mouse with the phone via bluetooth. It also has dedicated modes to allow direct control of windows media player and powerpoint presentations (also works with open office)
you can control your pc mouse, etc????? HOW???????

You'll get better battery performance if you use atrac rather than mp3. Also, how much did you pay?
i got mine for £40 a month but with 7 months half price line rental. i got 500anytime any network mins,100 free texts and 50 free video mins.

@ Infidel

how do i get the w900i to control the mouse?any program i need to install?

All you need is a bluetooth reciever on your pc and the w900i software installed, then browse to: Organiser and tools and then select remote control.. done. :)
a bluetooth dongle counts as a receiver right?because i cant get it to work:S

To Xpander: Yeah I actually saw this thread before I got this phone. However the disadvantages raised are nothing in comparison compared to the benefits.

With regards to the crashing and the slow OS, I have yet to experience them.
same, i have not experienced crashing and i find the OS to be only slow when i turned the phone off and then back on and went to menu for the first time. after that its pretty fast.

infidel-i managed to get it working!:D brilliant now i can listen to music on my bed and when my parents tell me to turn the music down i can do it without moving to the pc!

p.s. do i have to use windows media player?because im using itunes and some buttons dont work...

No it isn't, people like you nearly put me off buying one, and im glad i did buy one.

It is not as big as people make out, i have no problems with its size, i wouldnt exactly call it slim but it isn't a brick.
same as what i said before.it isnt a brick.i find the size perfect. i cant stand slim phones because i just keep thinkin i will break them. i think the depth of the w900 is the same as the d500 bar the slop bit nearer to the bottom(if that makes sense, its late and im tired).

does anyone know how to disable the vodafone button?i keep accidently pressing it when i press the return button and when its in my pocket(even with the lock button on i managed to unlock it and press it by accident!! ) it gets really annoying.does it starts charging me money when its on d vodafone page??if so its going to cost me a bomb!!

It is perfectly normal - the battery meter on the W900i is not a direct indication of how much charge is left in the battery, but an estimate of how much battery life you would expect if you continue your current usage pattern - if you stop playing MP3s for a while and leave the phone idle you will notice the battery meter increases. Its a little strange to get used to and after having my W900i for a few months now its still strange seeing the battery meter go up and down depending on what you are doing with the phone.

oh right, thats cool i guessmnow i dont need to worry about the battery!

everytime i want to record a video clip i have to change the settings to normal in order for me to record more than 8 secs. can i just set it to normal so everytime i want to record a clip i dont need to change the settings?

it gets quite anooying.

cheers
