I've followed like 5 tutorials pretty much all the same for 720p quality on my youtube channel - http://www.youtube.com/user/BigleyBomber?feature=mhee

But I still can't get 720p the quality is still awful

Anyone edit with sony vegas 11 pro and getting 720p (good quality)?

If so please help.

anyone?

SFFNoob · 26 Dec 2011 at 22:42

What exactly are you trying to do?
Whats the source input like?

Masterdeadly · 26 Dec 2011 at 22:45

It's Fraps, perfect quality whenever I render it, it comes out 320p which my audience won't enjoy watching.

should have various settings to save it and also can make your own custom settings

Masterdeadly · 26 Dec 2011 at 23:05

Done all custom settings to try and get the best quality still can't get 720p I'll link you guys my newist video see if you think it's good enough quality.

is this before or after uploading?

are you aware that youtube can take up to 3 hours to convert the 720p versions of uploaded videos before they can be viewed?

you'll only get 320 at first, then 480 and then 720.

Masterdeadly · 26 Dec 2011 at 23:10

I'm aware of this, the video in fraps is 720p, render it turns into like 480 max when I've changed all the settings for 720.

With Vegas you always need to make sure that your project settings are correct (resolution and framerate) and when rendering I'd always create a custom preset to get a balance between video quality and size so it doesn't take an age to upload. If encoding to H.264 CABAC is better than CAVLC and also you can use 160 or 192kbps AAC audio. For 720p I'm guessing around 3mbps is the sweet spot for keeping quality considering that YouTube re-convert it themselves too.

I'm seeing a 720p option, so I don't understand what the problem is?

YouTube does not instantly publish videos into their full detail/format. As already mentioned above, it can take up to three hours for YouTube to successfully convert the video file and enable the 720p viewing option.

So long as you've rendered the video in 720p, it will appear in 720p. If you don't want people viewing it at 360, 480 etc, then do not make the video public until it has been "HD Enabled".

~>Dg<~ · 26 Dec 2011 at 23:22

Masterdeadly · 26 Dec 2011 at 23:37

Is that good enough quality tho?

Masterdeadly · 26 Dec 2011 at 23:39

why so many dislikes?

Aod · 26 Dec 2011 at 23:40

because it's a deathly boring video?

Masterdeadly · 26 Dec 2011 at 23:43

Right, anyone has used Vegas and can tell me their settings?

LordSplodge · 26 Dec 2011 at 23:46

Whilst technically 720p Goddess only knows what you've done to render such crappy looking video. It is compression artifact city.

Boring video too.

I don't think it's because of the video quality...

Masterdeadly · 26 Dec 2011 at 23:47
