To any guys who use Sony Vegas for editing movies: What effect do top gear editors use to make the borders of the film faded to black, but the center normal?

Look for "Magic Bullet Editors" they're professional plugins for Vegas that add thematic elements to your video. The effect your after is contained in there.

Top Gear kind of looks like the lomo effect, or rather, lomography.

Another recommendation for Magic Bullet. It's fanstastic. It turns footage from amateur to pro at the click of a mouse. An extremely powerful set of tools to prefect the image you're after.

This is a project I'm working on at the moment, before and after pics.

They use a 'vignette'. Have a look for a tutorial.
