Thanks.I have the WH-1000XM4 and they are excellent for music, daily commute and if I am listening on PC generally. However for gaming I use the Logitech Pro-X wireless headphonse, the mic is important and the Sony aren't great there. I also find they don't do as well direction wise.
Yeah adequate for phone calls/teams calls type stuff.Thanks.
That sounds great (pun not intended).
I have a seperate desk mic but would never have expected them to be good for that. Adequate for making phone calls?
that doesn't sound right at all, I'd be going back to Sony to raise this. I've got some XM2's and after 5 years the battery life is still outstanding. After finally biting the bullet on some WH-1000XM4 a few months back I have to say I am pretty disappointed by the battery life on them, maybe I just got a duff set but I seem to be forever charging them.
I'm in the same position, I've got some XM2's that are a bit old in the tooth now and AirPod pro's for everyday use. I'm kinda hoping that apple do a really good followup on the AirPod max as I really like the handoff between my phone, iPad and MacBook. Perhaps that's overplayed by the fact that my XM2's can only be connected to one device at a time so if I want to use them with a different device I have to manually pair again. I get that the newer models support multi device.Never used to watch TV but could see that being annoying. I tried the Bose a few times and have never got on with them soundstage wise for whatever reason. I do think the new XM5's look naff now though and much cheaper than my XM4's.
Not sure what the next step up in Audio with bluetooth and NC is over the Bose & Sony tbh. If there was something worth looking at over these I would be interested.
In fairness you are comparing a £400 headset with signicant peripherals against a Bluetooth set of cans. I'm not surprised they don't match up.I don't know how similar they XM4s are to the XM3s, but I was really not impressed with the musical quality of the XM3s.
Don't get me wrong, the noise cancelling was ace, but I was very disappointed with them musically, very "gloopy".
For ref, my day to day cans are a pair of Sennheiser HD600s, driven by a decent DAC and dedicated amp.
