*** Sony Xperia Z3 Compact ***

Was just wondering guys can you still claim on warranty without receipt i.e. fleebay?

Yep. All done by imei mate.

Register on Sony support website. Enter imei and it will tell you when your warranty expires. Then just fill out online form for warranty work. :)

Had a problem with the headphone socket of her Z3C. Sent it off to Sony and within 3 working days the device was back.

However in the meantime she borrowed (now given to her) my backup phone - Honor 6 and she likes it better! She wants to sell the Z3C now. I've gotten rid of my Z3 and am currently using her Z3C. It's so hard to get used to the smaller screen. Still a very nice phone!

I had a problem with the rear camera for the past few weeks, the lens had a smudge on the inside. Impressed at the turn around with the repair and now it's as good as new.

I used my work s5 a lot more than normal while I was without my z3c and I must admit I prefer the screen on the s5. That's it really though, the z3c wins on everything else for me

The reviews for the Huawei/Honor state for the money it is good value though quite compromised in some areas.

I certainly couldn't get my head around your missus preferring the Honor to the Z3C widely recognised as one of the best smartphones on the market.

Mind you your comment about getting rid of your larger Z3 also had me puzzled.

^All about choice. The Hauwei is bigger than the Z3C and she prefers the bigger real estate that the screen has to offer. Secondly EMUI is more feature packed than the Z3C too so it's a no brainer for her.

As for me others in the forum well know that I don't tend to hang onto my phones for a long time. So there's no need to be puzzled about it.

Hmm! I think we will have to agree to disagree about which is the best phone - Z3 by a mile.

Cannot understand why people frequently change their phones. Most analysts will tell you the average 3 year old smartphone is still completely relevant today.

Just a waste of money, even if you sell them on.

Is anyone else having trouble with poor battery performance since the update?
I have stamina on but it seems like I am always charging the bloody thing lately.
I used to charge every 3rd day and now I don't get two days out of it - I have to charge it for a bit on the second day and then fully charge on a night.
It dropped from 50% at around 12 today to 8% at 10pm and it's not really done anything.
Just noticed the OS has eaten 33% of the total power usage.

Also - how can I stop "highlights" from providing me with a slideshow that I don't want nor need.

I am having the exact same problem. I have had my phone for 9 months now and at first I was getting 5-6 hours SOT, but ever since I updated to Lollipop it has dropped significantly, 3-4 hours if Im lucky.

Also stuff like 'media server' and some google application thing seem to use a lot of juice.

I disabled Chrome (why can i not uninstall it??) as I thought it was the culprit as just browsing on it would rinse out the battery, but having installed Opera, it uses a similar amount, always the top battery user, even more than the screen. Is there any browser that doesn't use as much?

Anything else I can do?

Uninstall Google Play Services updates, shut down, reboot and reinstall. Worked perfectly for me. Battery now back at 2 days.

Grabbed a z3c today

Looking forward to seeing how battery performs :)

Probably smallest phone I've had in years. Although the wife now wants to swap her z3 for thecompact lol
