Anyone in anyway interested in this after the betas and the demo? For me its too little too late for something that was meant to be competition for bf2142 and ended up coming out an age after it.

im still getting it and played the betas... but im coming from playing back to back DAOC then WOW for the last few years so its not like im bored of fps atm

i've just got a new pc that will handle all the bells and whistles and dl'ed the demo last night, seemed ok to me (though i didn't play much of it)? what's the problem with it?

Nothing is wrong with it, You will here the odd person moaning about the game engine.... I've never had a problem with it, you will also hear people moan about it being like bf2142... Its nothing like it gameplay wise at all! Oh and you may here people moaning about the game being boring and nothing like Wolf ET, to them I ask "Have you given it a chance? Or have you just dismissed it after the first 10 minutes of play?. I will be buying this game because if you give it a chance and start to learn how it works then you start to realise how fun it actually is :)

Nothing amazingly wrong with it but its just the way splashdamage talked about the game like it was gonna reinvent multiplayer fps games with vehicles.

I remember one of their points was "we have no fog in our maps you can see the whole map". Then they went on to say about how annoying it was in "other games" where you would be firing at an enemy and he'd disappear ito the fog. For all their hype about draw distance this game has air combat thats very frustrating. Instead of the fog clearing like in bf2 and your enemies coming into view in this game you can see where you're going but enemies will just "pop" into view.

Its more or less the same problems as battlefield where you'd be flying along and stuff would come into view too late for you to turn properly on it if you were in a plane. Where exactly is the big improvement in that respect? Yeah you can see the whole map but having to wait for things to pop into view is just as bad as having to wait on the fog clearing in BF.

A lot of complaints also center on the fact that sometimes theres just too much going on as all the fighting is done at the same areas since areas have to be capped in a specific order.

Being that RtCW was my first experience of MP and then W:ET I had very high hopes for QW:ET alas, it just does not reach the heights for me. I had ET:QW on pre-order but cancelled it after Beta1. I had the option to play Beta2 but it was to late.....the game has so much potential in terms of teamplay yet, none existed.

Roll on RtCW2

ETQW+10 foot barge pole = never going to happen.

Reason: Bunny Hopping Muppets, very average gameplay, poorly finished game engine.

Bring on Crysis multi-player.

Yeah i am a massive ET fan and id play it every single hour i could spare. So i had high hopes. Also i did have reservations as i thought adding the ET name to something that never resembled wolfenstein was stupid.
I signed up for both the betas and i must admit it didnt play anything like ET although the classes and gameplay are there.
I have been playing the full game since yesterday and i must say that nothing has really changed for me but i am willing to give it a go but it really should be Wolfenstein 2 rather than quake wars imo.

Pre-ordered it about a 6mths ago when I actually had high hopes for it just been posted, might give it another chance but can't see anything changing.

the guns were bad imo. felt innacurate and buggy. plus there was nothing 'new' put into the game like they promised. just seems to be bf2, in virtually the same environment, but worse.

no atmosphere at all. you expect it to look like earth is actually being invaded by an unstoppable brutal war machine, yet you fight in a nice untouched countryside area. just didnt fit with the whole scenario

I didn't think it was anything like BF2...I liked BF2.
I really wanted to enjoy ETQW - I used to be in a clan with Splash Damage's owner/director - but it just wasn't fun. I played quite a bit of both betas and didn't get into it. I can't even blame it on high expectations from W:ET, cos I never played that. Good luck to everyone who enjoyed it - I hope it does well, but I've cancelled by preorder and I'm afraid I'll be sticking to TF2.

It's a pretty good blast. I quite enjoyed the demo, but I do think its a game you have to play with mates otherwise it is boring. It isn't revolutionary but it'll get a fair amount of playtime from me. Won't be a game I'll be playing in years though. It certainly is no where near the quality of the original ET.

Well I haven't re-ordered it yet after terminating my pre-order. Not sure I can be bothered to either with other great games on the horizon.
