SOPA is dead

Their attempts to control internet information have not ended for good.

These people spent a lot of time, money, effort and resources to build up their control of the mass media. They will do everything they can to ensure their monopoly over the information the masses have access to is not contested.

I think the amount of loss that these industries lose is overstated in that article, billions? Truly?

As I keep saying, bring cold hard proof that the industries are "losing money" and we'll come up with a deal of some sort. Glad this is over. For now.

They'll probably just try to pass it under the radar buried in some other nondescript bill of some sort :)

Or at least that's how it would happen in a film :D

prefer shower gel tbh

A man deserves to get paid for his work.

This applies to the entertainment industry as well. I hope that even those who oppose SOPA & PIPA will agree that piracy is not good for anyone.

Why are Ron Paul supporters always raving conspiracy theorist lunatics?

This case is about copyright law, not control of the internet or the mass media.

i believe that one day they will just force it upon us...

Well I suspect they'll make many changes before this happens (if it does happen), and even then, I suspect everybody would protest against it (including myself). I can also imagine Anonymous and the Lulz ship sailing in to save the day by launching strings of attacks, such as those seen just as a result of shutting megaupload down.
