I know sharing is caring and all, but not when it comes to passing on a cold.

I am starting to get a sore throat which was given to me by the scum at work lol

What is better for a sore throat? Cold water or coffee/tea etc?

I dont have any lemon stuff at the work and the only thing available is stuff from the vending machine - coffee, tea, hot chocolate etc.

Can you get hold of any honey, as this in black tea may help.

Great start to the weekend huh............:(

Cant get out to the shop until lunchtime so got another few hours to wait.
Great start to the weekend and its my birthday next friday and going on what my colds have been like in the past this is when it will kick in full on :D

Good excuse to eat loads of chocolate.

Good excuse indeed ;) Someone is leaving and have left a box of celebrations on the desk.

Boiling water + lemon + honey = win.

Strepsils too.

I've never managed to nip a sore throat in the bud though, always turns into something worse :p

Water mate! I remember i started to get a sore throat, someone told us just to hit the water and it worked a dream. It didnt even get that bad and it went within 2 days.

Could always try the gargle with salt water method which i always get told to do, it has never really helped me, but other people swear by it.

Sore throat? Pah! There are people dying of cancer! Man up and punch yourself in the ovaries.

I am sure you hate having a sore throat too.
Usually my sore throats turn into full on throat infections where the back of my throat gets all blistered, cut and inflammed. The only thing I can eat is soup for weeks.

Thanks for the tips so far. I have a lecture I have to take next week, so I am hoping I dont lose my voice next week or it could be very difficult lol.

Wouldnt salt water irritate it? dunno

You would think so, but it apparently helps.....like i said it never worked for me.

Think it might be something to with the salt drawing out some of the moisture from the throat and therefore taking some of whatever is causing the soreness with it, but that is purely a guess.
