Was going to place an order on Continental Sport Contact 3 but had to nip out, by the time I was back they'd gone up in price £10 per tyre :p

So before I actually order, what would you lot recommend as a good all round tyre with wet breaking performance whilst being fairly long lasting?

Tyre Size is 225/45Y17
For a 2002 Volvo V70 T5 Auto

Cheers all:)

£500 inc fitting or less?. Don't want to burn money needlessly but happy spending for quality at the same time!

I having problems finding tyres at the moment. The Asymmetric 2 is released but there is no stock in my size 245/40-18 (www.hiqonline.co.uk seem the best price fitted for these if they have stock of your size). The sportcontact 3 is now an old stock tyre so as the stock is depleting the price is going up and the SC5 which is to replace it is no where on the horizon. I don't really want to be fitting the SC3 either when its already been replaced.

What I don't understand is why new cars are still being fitted with ContiSportContact 2s.

Test drove a brand new Golf GTI at the weekend and it was fitted with CS2s. The dealer said it came like that from the factory

Yeah I don't know. I do know that OEM tyres arent the same as the tyre you buy retail though, even though they are labelled the same. Might be something to do with filling the original OEM order or maybe VW has a large volume of original stock.

Went for Toyo Proxes T1-R's in the end, £93 each including fitting. Cheers for help even though I haven't actually bought any ones mentioned in here!
