My parents have been tempted to join the 'online revolution' after getting some marketing material from BT. They spend a fortune each month each month on weekend and evening calls to UK landline numbers, so BT option 2 would seem like a good deal.

However, they have asked me for advice on exactly how the free weekend/evening calls thing works, and to be honest i don't have the foggiest

So, exactly how does it work? do they plug their existing handset into the BT wireless modem that they get sent and then just dial away?

Many thanks for any help

Yes. The calls have to be made through a phone plugged into the router and not the normal landline phone sockets.

Excellent, thank you very much. I take it that you can plug any standard phone into the router?

Also, when you are plugged in to the router do you just dial normally?

Yes you can use just about any phone. And yes you can dial a number just like you normally would. No prefixes needed or pin numbers or anything like that. You get given a second phone number for calls to the phone plugged into the router.
