Guys

I have 2x hard drives

1 with xp on it
1 with 64 bit Vista home premium

My Mobob is a EVGA 680 I

Now my question is this , i have been switching ogver the sata cabels inside the box depending upon which OS i want to boot up

If i connect noth to the mother board I.E

XP goes to sata port 1
Vista goed to sata port 2

Will i have automaticly have the option upon boot up as to what Hard drive to start from or do i have to do something else ?

u do not need to change cable if u want to boot different hdd, my mobo has a boot device screen if i press f8 @start up i can select which disk to boot from.

or you can get a software like VistaBootPRO or some thing like it and it will give u a boot menu when loading OS u wil have a choice, previous windows or Windows Vista

try that

IIRC, when you have more than one bootable partition, the PC will look for the first boot partition and boot from that. Once you are in Windows you can tweak the boot.ini file in the root of the boot partition. next time you boot, you sould be presented with a list of options.

Or you could get hold of Bootmagic and set that up.
