Sorry Newbie question

Hi all I wish to add a second sata hard drive I have cables which come from the mobo to the hd then split so i could add another 2 but would the second hd need a power cable as well if so would this come withe the hd or would i need to buy one sorry again I sound like a complete idiot thanks for any help

Yes the 2nd HD will require power also.

There should be a spare power cable coming out of your PSU (power supply) which you'll need to connect to the new HD as well as the SATA cable.

I'm not quite following this bit. SATA data cables are single, point to point links with only 2 connectors - one for drive end and one for the mobo end.

Are you sure you're looking at the right bits?

sorry i rechecked all the cables and i have the power cables but i need another sata 1 would this come with hd

Generally no, virtually all the drives OCUK sell are OEM parts so come with nothing other than the drive itself. Your mobo should have come with a few SATA cables or you can buy them individually for a couple of quid.

My OEM drive the other day came with mounting screws! i was most impressed.
