Sound bar choices

Gents

Vizio S54 vs Pioneer sp-sb23w vs Samsung hwf550

Been agonizing over a soundbar for a while and have narrowed it down to the above units. I have a budget of around $300. They are in range and all look good.

Any preferences? User experiences?

Are you after a soundbar due to space issues or could you make use of a full 5.1 set-up?

I know its not gospel but latest what hi-fi has a group review of sound bars this month. It was won pretty convincingly by the Philips HTL5120 with a 5 star review. 3 others got 4 stars.

Pioneer are regarded as the best but obviously the more expensive it is the better it should be, you get what you pay for with soundbars so long as it's not BOSE.

Honestly go and have a listen with your own source if you can. Assume you're in the US, a BestBuy chap was happy to line up a few in their 'high-end' demo room for me to listen to against Mission Impossible 4. From what I remember the Vizio is pretty darn good.

Just lookout for extra features you may want, i.e. airplay / bluetooth / multiple connections
