After upgrading my PC with the mobo, cpu and gcard in sig, and installing Vista 32bit, I've noticed that running games and applications in general, the sound will distort and crackle.

This has happened while playing Crysis, C&C3 and running WMP. I am using an Audigy 2 ZS and have disabled the onboard audio through Device Manager.

Any ideas what could be causing this? I have the latest drivers for the Creative soundcard afaik.

i get this too

I get this problem too. I have an X-Fi Fata1ty Championship Edition.
Crysis I get wierd screeching and other annoying noises - the game is unplayable as a result.
And listening to any music at all leaves me with this popping, or crackling as you mention.

I think it's a Vista - Creative issue, as many people with these two are experiencing the same thing.

Awaiting a better driver from Creative; and MS to acknowledge that there is a general Vista sound problem.

Good luck with creative drivers, they banned someone from making drivers for the community recently over some bs ip claim, so I don't think they're planning on doing anything about it. I reccomend you don't buy from them ever again.
