I just got my hands on my old Soundblaster card from my old pc and thought I would have a go at getting it to work with my newer Pc.
Its a sound blaster Audigy, around 4 years old and it was a great card so I'd like to get it working properly
It has a front panel on it with various sockets ect.... but that doesn't work, I found some drivers for the card but the front panel wont work at all, I've got it connected by a black cable that came with it and a serial cable aswell, I not sure if this is right as I whipped it out in a hurryy... silly me
the serial number on the card is SB0090 and on the front panel is SB0010D
can someone help pleasE?

Did you remember to plug power into the drive bay?

Are there any lights behind the optical connectors?

Internally you should have connected thr adlink robbon cable and the firewire cable

The adlink cable is the thick ide type cable.

The drive bay has a floppy type power connector you need to connect up.

Thats why theres no red lights

oh right I cant find the power cable socket tho :S
the adlink cable is connected and a black one, I'm getting wiered problems like echoes using teamspeak and it not hearing my mic unless its unmuted in volume controls :s
I may give up with this one

Well the mic wont work if its muted lol :p

Theres also a floppy power connector on the audigy itself. Try it on there.

EDIT : it is the one with the internal bay youre using, not the external bay?

well I gave up, I was using the mute microphone to self like u usually do :s so you dont have to hear your selfits the external bay with lots of sockets
