onboard sound is terrible. get a soundcard or external DAC.

Can't say my on board sound is too bad
Though my Harmon kardon speakers
Are pretty decent
I would try the on board sound first
If you are happy with it then that's the main thing
Yeah you can get technical and spend more money on a sound card, dac etc
But I wouldn't fork out cash
Until actually listened to the on board first
Not everyone is an audiophile so it's one of those no right or wrong answers topics
As far as my opinion goes

Im using the onboard on my X570 Aorus Pro, over my Xonar U7, and it sounds fine, got some Logi z906 5.1s hooked up to it.

I like the look of all these external boxes but I’d rather keep everything inside the computer case instead of having lots of boxes on the desk.
i was not happy with the sound on my new tomahawk max mainboard so i grabbed one of these https://www.overclockers.co.uk/crea...ound-card-retail-70sb150000001-sc-087-cl.html and i notice a sweet improvement be it in games or watching stuff
