hi guys,
i've always used on board sound cards, reasons being i only ever run a usb head set 7.1 or 2.5 stereo when going loud so what would the benefit of me getting a shiny new sound card be.

If you are planning on continuing to use USB headseats then none.

In my opinion though even a cheap soundcard, like a Xonar DG and a semi-decent set of headphones and a clip-on mic are far superior.

For £75 odd you can get a very respectable gaming setup which also will be far better for music.

cool so there's a partial benefit i assume the load for sound is then ran through the SB instead of all cpu or does that happen anyway

But cool thats pretty much what i was looking for :D
