My laptop is only booting into safe mode at the moment (needs a new gfx card), and since I largely use it for music, is there a way I can get into safe mode but with audio enabled?

(win vista)

can't you remove the graphics drivers and enter normal mode?

This ^^

If you can uninstall the graphics drivers, and boot to normal mode, then that would be the best option.

Are you sure you actually need a new graphics card, or is the whole problem just a driver problem?

In normal mode it just reboots after about 30 seconds. Before this started happening the screen was fuzzy/distorted and I kept getting the message that the display adapter had failed (can feel a huge amount of heat inside the laptop too).

But I can get into safe mode. The screen is distorted for a couple of minutes, but then returns to normal.
