Sound not coming through correctly.

I recently bought the Titan 8100i Triceratop" Intel Core i5 2500K 3.30GHz @ 4.40GHz DDR3 Quad Core System from Overclockers. I am using a pair of Logitech LS21 2.1 speakers to play sound, however the sound is not coming through although the PC is saying that it is. If i am playing any music through say VLC player i have to play it as "Mono" to be able to hear any sound as when playing as Stereo it plays no sound. Also when playing as Mono the sound is only coming through the left hand side speaker and is recognizing it as the "center" speaker.
I also have other issues such as if i plug the sub-woofer directly in to the sub-woofer port and the speakers in directly to the PC instead of into the back of the sub-woofer then it plays the sound so quietly it is almost impossible to hear, although the sub-woofer is fine.
All my settings are playing sound at their max etc
This is really annoying me and I cannot seem to find any help online about this problem, any help?

Have you set up speakers to 2.1 in windows sound options?

yes, but they stay quiet and then the sub-woofer doesn't play any sound, or if it does its too quiet to hear.

check they are plugged in to the correct socket.

when testing in 5.1 & 7.1 testing the sub-woofer is the only time i can hear it, and its very loud when testing it.

I thought so too James, but i plugged them into my iPhone and they play fine there, so I kind of ruled that out.

And you've turned all the sound volume sliders up in windows and realtek? If you right click the white speaker bottom right of taskbar then playback devices/speakers,click enhancements amd tick the speaker fill option,see if its any better

only tick box there is disable all sound effects, tick this?

if that doesnt work,ignore the back panel colour coded jacks and plug them in so that the pop up message matches the speaker youve just plugged in

if that fails pop in the bios and set onboard sound from hdaudio to ac97,save/exit

it might come under onboard devices,itll be in there somewhere and it will probably say hdaudio,set it to ac97,its just the same soundwise

I have configured my speakers to this

I can now hear sound from left & right speakers, (still very quiet) but the sub-woofer is still fine(nice and loud)

try with 7.1 sound and disable any un needed speakers(speakers you dont have)

you have to do that sometimes on gigabyte boards,you might get the correct sound then

Tested. Exactly the same, normal speakers are playing very quietly but woofer still normal.
