sound problem

hey all

i jus got my z-5500 yesterday, didnt have chance to use em, but today i have them installed with a, x-fi platinum, but my windows sounds have gone wierd.

when i go into control panel then sounds an try to play one, first time it playes then fades out , 2nd time i jus get a hum from the speakers.

also when playing music the song seems to fade a lot like its fading out at end of a song.
i have not changed any settings from my old speakers which were fine. any1 had this problem??

EDIT** jus found out its the effect i have on the volume control. anything other than 6 channel direct makes songs fade and windows sounds not play. also have noticed then when there is no instruments jus the singers voice it gets louder then goes back to normal volume when intruments play again. very wierd

hmm i jus uncovered a new problem

when i do the surround sound test

my center speaker dont work
the rear speakers come on as the front ones an then when it does rear ones nothing happens and sub dont work, this using the thx setup thing


so i tried to use the counterstrike sound test thing

both left side speakers do the center sound an center makes no noise
