Hi there I am putting a system together for a mates sons Xmas present. The bios on gpu (gtx560) won't let me enter the motherboards bios so I'm using a dvi lead (dvi to hdmi) instead of a hdmi. Thing is I'm getting the pcs sound through the tv? I thought dvi doesn't carry sound ?

AMD and Nvidia does allow sound through DVI by using some of the unused connections when connected to a HDMI monitor/tv. Only certain adapters takes advantage of this however, and it seems you were lucky enough to by a cable that can carry the sound over.

Also, do you mean the 560 won't let you enter the normal motherboard BIOS? That seems a bit... strange...

he gtx560 has a HDMI slot on the card i was hoping he could just use a hdmi cable for his sound ad vision as its going on an lcd tv in his bedroom. however when i use a hdmi lead the picture does not come on until the windows screen starts. so i needed to go and buy another lead to set up bios features, ive just instaled a few games and was very suprised to hear the sound lol :-) if i use the dvi slot the bios comes up fine though
