Hey all,
I am after some advice regarding building your own sound system.
Atm i have a harman/kardon 2.1 speaker system but am looking to replace it with something built from various other amps etc.

I was thinking of buying 2 Tweeters and then a single Subwhoofer, all plugged into an amplifier then in turn plugged into my computer/ a stereo system.

Question number 1) Is this possible?
2) other than the speakers and amplifier and sub, what else would i need?
3) What sort of prices am i looking at for all of this?, 100 is my max budget really?

Thanks for any help

And yes i am a bit of a n00b at sound systems, so i may not understand everything.
I did some research but could not find an awful lot.

Having just 2 tweeters and a subwoofer would sound crap due to missing frequencys.
What you need is 2 speakers and a subwoofer, the speakers consist of a midbass driver and tweeter.
As for the price personally i would say that you would struggle to get anything decent for £100.

I have just been looking on a website at speakers, and i think i will have to push it abit, maybe 150-200 ish,
As for the speakers, i sort of meant that i think, basically just normal speakers sort of thing?
As for an amplifier what would i be looking at to improve the sound quality? or wont this be necessary ?

You will need a amplifier to drive the speakers and sub unless you go for a active sub then you will just need one for the speakers.
To get decent sound quality you need to go for a decent make of amplifier the cheaper ones usually sound a bit nasty.
Personally i would go second hand instead of new because you will be able to get much better kit for your buget.
