Help!

I have an error with all source games. Any idea what it is?
It used to work fine, I have the latest ATI drivers installed. I did manage to get it working for one day by turning pretty much all my background processes off but that doesn't work either any more.

System:
Opteron 144 @2.8gig
2gig RAM
ATI 1950pro
Win XP Pro

Nope. I'm going to just reinstall Steam and all games. I'd guess that this installation is probably a bit of a mess since it's survived several boot drive formats :)

/fluffles 100meg connection ;)

EDIT: Nope, didn't work. Any one know of any Catalyst issues? That's the only thing I've updated recently. I don't to go back to an earlier revision really as this set improved my 3ds Max viewports speed tremendously.

Nothing really you can do I had a very similar if not that error when running HL2 on my old AMD 3500+. I think you need to upgrade your CPU.

I checked the steam site and it suggested I check my OS pooled memory to see that it never goes over 150mb. It maxed at 130mb

I have plenty of free RAM and have played source games before with no problems.
Weird, I can play Crysis on it but not source :/

To solve this log out of steam properly, not just closing it, then log back in. It is random and unrelated to drivers or physical components from my experience, simply a bug. No need to reinstall.
