Relations between those two aren't exactly stellar, and flags are tokens of national pride. To be associated with your sworn enemies flag, must have been a real hard blow to take.

What a monumental way to **** up the start of the olmypics. Good job

To those saying "It's just a flag", I'm guessing you've never paid attention to the fuss people make about the Union flag being hanged upside down, or people mixing up England and Great Britain, or whatever.

Legally both coutries are still at war and in the mind of the DPRK the South Korean flag is imposed on their lost Southern brethren by the capitalist US oppressors. Of course you'd be raging if your face was shown against the wrong flag in those circumstances. Entirely justified of them to get in a huff and with the fervour the DPRK athletes have I'm amazed the game went ahead at all. Sign of changing times in the North?

Why are we using football grounds in Scotland and all across the country anyway? it's London 2012? what is wrong with using Emirates/White Hart Lane/Stamford Bridge etc?

To be fair they are technically at war with them.

It would be the same as during the Falklands Conflict that somebody accidently put the Argentina flag up instead of the Union Jack. WOuld be pretty sure our players would be miffed and refuse to play until the correct flag was sorted out.

I expect no less from our country though. We always make mistakes and it seems we're picked up on them a lot more than other countries are. Yes they're at war but do we really give a **** about some womans football game that hardly anyone will be watching anyway. It would be slightly different with your example of England playing Argentina during the falklands as millions would be watching a mens football game between these 2.

Like that should even matter. There is absolutely no excuse for it whatsoever no matter what the event is. If i'd been called up 3 minutes before kickoff asking to send in an image of the north korean flag i would have got the right one with 5 seconds on google, how can they have weeks of preparation time and still get it wrong.

Honestly whoever was in charge of that and then the QC after it really need a good reprimand.

Yeah..... the level of sheer incompetence necessary to make this kind of mistake boggles the mind.

I bet the guy just googled "korean flag" and went with the first result, completely unaware korea is in fact two different countries. You would think given it's his job that he would check that kind of thing though...
