Does anyone have a download link for Vista SP1 for 32 and 64bit? It's just so that I can reinstall windows tommorow and use it on that.

Not yet, Microsoft will be releasing it to technical customers very soon.

  • Late Friday we made SP1 RTM available to individuals and companies who participated in the SP1 beta program.
  • At the end of this week we will be making the English version of Windows Vista SP1 available to Volume Licensing customers. Other languages will follow soon after.
  • Later this month, SP1 will be available to MSDN and TechNet Plus subscribers.

I'm waiting for Mike Nash to confirm the build numbers, doubt he will give me them though. I still don't think its RTM myself (on the torrent sites).

I want to be super-clear on one point: Windows Vista SP1 is final. It has been fully released to manufacturing and we do not plan to make any changes to the SP1 code prior to public availability.

The RTM version doesn't have a time and a lot of us are using that RTM build. Whoever posts on the official Microsoft blog confirms the versions going around torrents and other websites is the RTM version, it's 1840.

No, I ment on the torrents. I know its RTM but would like to hear the build number from Microsoft before even using it. I don't trust many torrents these days.

Yes but Refresh 2 does not have a time and on the desktop, there has been too many people saying its this or its that. I posted on the blog with Mike Nash to hear it from a Microsoft rep first. After all this is the internet.
 
Refresh 2 is exactly the same as the RTM build - 6001.18000.080118-1840 - they have the same build string, neither versions expire. It has been confirmed by MS that 18000 is final and that Refresh 2 is RTM. I understand why you're dubious, but it has already been confirmed.

Have you got a link from MS to confirm this is the final build number? I am sure between refresh 2 and RTM there will have been changes this is why personally I want it confirmed from MS and downloaded from MS servers.

it's confirmed. people who have access to connect and volume licensing have verified it.
