The problem with the "2-games-in-1" idea is that it runs a massive risk of being a great 3rd person game and rubbish space sim, or vice versa.
I'd love a massive game where you could run around on foot/vehicles on a planet/station and then jump in my gnarly space ship and go loot someone's cargo or join some epic space battle.
The only games I have played where space battles are truly epic are Freespace 1 and 2. If someone could combine epic space battles from FS2, X3's massively open playing area and party/solo action from say Oblivion then we have one of the greatest games ever likely to exist. Anyone got 10 Billion quid to develop it?
