Space Engineers [sandbox goodness]

Forgive me for asking, but how can you complete the game? I thought it's pretty much a sandbox, although there is an objective so you never truly complete it a bit like Minecraft or whatever.
Once you complete all the tiers and build the station and spaceship, theres a whole ending "cutscene" and although you can continue after that you have at that point completed the storyline, the ending cutscene provides a final completion point in that regard, its reminiscent of the ending of Subnautica and the cutscene sequence in that game

I played this with my nephew for about a year. Started on earth, built a small base in the desert.

Got into space & built a massive station inside an asteroid with a huge docking ring around it which was bristling with guns and an assembly array with which we built loads of ships including a heavy armour battleship & a fighter carrier that was something like 300m long.

Then built a mobile outpost & dropped it on another planet where we then built another base over a canyon (the roof serves as a bridge).

looks like some new content for SE1
which will be interesting.
