Space Shuttle STS-121 - Mission ULF1.1 to the International Space Station

Back with the Shuttle...

T-MINUS 4:25:30

Halfway through fuelling at the moment.

Currently NO-GO for launch due to weather.

70% chance of a NO-GO at the launch time due to weather again.

Tuesday, looking similar to today.
Wednesday, Thrusday and Friday are lookign worse.

Chances of a no-go due to weather

Today - 70%
Monday - 60%
Tuesday - 40%
Wednesday - 60% at least

Tuesday looks like the best day, but bear in mind yesterday was 40% too.

Personally, I think they should scrub today and go for Tuesday, but I understand their desire to get off the ground, so we'll just have to wait and see.

I'd just go with keep loading them up until they can go.

They were also contemplating extending the mission by a day apparently.

Currently for my laptop streamign the webcast onto the second monitor while having Blazing Saddles on the laptops screen. Works quite nicely.

That bit on the preperation of the External Fuel Tank was good - from arrival in March through the modifications and testing to rollout.

They should have more stuff like that in the run-up.

LOL. Just showed a board full or red indications. Wasn't quick enough to grab it. With that lot working against them, the only way they're going is if someone goes up there and moves the clouds out of the way. :D

Naaah

A few 120mm delta's should do the trick. ;)

lmao imagine the racket all those 120mm screamers would cause!

Only slightly less that the shuttle itself. ;)

Anyway - just shownt he weather board - think there was 8 items on it - half of them were red...

They inspectors are beign kept off the structure due to the lightning warnings. Probably for the best.

Yup, especially as I've previously said, it's been struck once already this week, and the old 'lightning never strikes the same place twice' thing is of course utter tripe.

Especially as it's a very tall metal structure that is grounded...

Prime target tbh.

Looked a nice day when the crew walked out to the bus.

Few clouds but doesn't look too bad. However - around the shuttle looks a lot worse.
