SPACEBALLS II

getting the feeling they should have left this alone and just left people with the fond memories of the original

Its been a long time since I watched Spaceballs, is it suitable for kids? I have 6, 8 and 11 year old. I really cant remember any 'adult' content if there was any.

Definitely suitable for kids - the adult jokes were very subtle.

They have to watch Star Wars first though, obviously…

I don't think you do. I loved Spaceballs without having watched any of the Star Wars films. Maybe i should go back though and see how much i missed, although most of the lore is so well known without the films i don't think i missed much.

It would be like watching Hot Shots without seeing Top Gun - you CAN do it, but it makes it so much funnier if you see the original first before the pee-taking one.

The Force/Shwartz jokes for one…

Yeah, that's what i mean though. Even without watching the films the stuff about the force is just so well known in every day culture that i don't think it's as big a deal. Will have to rewatch and see if there was anything that stands out as different
